The Global Shrimp Council (GSC) is an independent international organization comprised of members from the shrimp industry. Established as a non-profit organization in Washington D. C., with support from the National Seafood Association and the Global Shrimp Forum (GSF).
The GSC’s mission is to implement programs focused on advertising, promotion, information, and research to highlight the benefits of shrimp. These efforts aim to increase per capita consumption in selected territories around the world.
The GSC welcomes members from all origins and shrimp varieties—both wild-caught and farmed. Membership is open to shrimp producers, importers, feed suppliers and equipment providers.
The Global Shrimp Council is pleased to welcome Esther Luiten as its new Executive Director, marking an important step as the organization continues building a stronger global platform for the shrimp industry and advancing its mission to inspire consumers around the world to choose shrimp more often.
